Here at Fanuli, we know that using wood is naturally better for our environment because it helps tackle climate change in two very important ways.

First, growing trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store the carbon so efficiently that about half the dry weight of a tree is carbon. This carbon remains ‘locked up’ for the life of the wood when we use it for our furniture. It is released into the atmosphere again only when the wood decays or is burnt. Since our furniture is made to last for many years, our timber products at Fanuli Furniture will be environmentally sustainable for generations.

Second, forestry is one of the most greenhouse-friendly sectors of the Australian economy. So the increased use of wood in our products will assist Australia in offsetting its overall greenhouse gas emissions.

The international Panel on Climate change agrees with our philosophy, "In the long term, a sustainable forest management strategy aimed at maintaining or increasing forest carbon stocks, while producing an annual sustained yield of timber, fibre, or energy from the forest, will generate the largest sustained mitigation benefit".
