Thanks to the relevance of its design today, the Ginger chaise longue, authored by Antonio Citterio in 1984, is now being reintroduced. It combines formal elegance and exceptional comfort.
The chaise features a sinuous tubular metal structure that supports soft seat and backrest cushions and a pivoting side table that offers a handy surface integrated into the structure itself.
The generously padded goose-down backrest cushion rests against an elegant leather-clad cylindrical and on springs that ensure optimal back support.
Antonio Citterio
Antonio Citterio is one of Italy’s most influential architects and designers, with a career spanning architecture, interiors and industrial design. Internationally recognised and the recipient of prestigious design honours including the ADI Compasso d’Oro, his longstanding collaboration with Flexform has produced some of the brand’s most recognisable and enduring designs. Ginger began in the pages of Citterio’s notebooks in the early 1980s, where he drew and redrew the design, influenced in part by Bauhaus, Rationalism and the work of René Herbst. Forty years later, Flexform returned to those original drawings and reissued Ginger without needing to reinvent it — a remarkable expression of Citterio’s aspiration to create designs capable of withstanding the test of time.
