Neutral Bay Apartment

Neutral Bay Apartment

QUIETLY COMPOSED

Overlooking the treetops of Neutral Bay towards the North Sydney skyline, this highly resolved residence by Mathieson brings the generosity and privacy of a house to apartment living.

The living, dining and kitchen spaces open towards the western outlook, while framed views, integrated detailing and carefully concealed functional elements allow the architecture and materials to remain uninterrupted. Lighting is similarly integrated, highlighting texture and spatial transitions while preserving the apartment’s calm atmosphere.

Architecture, interiors, furniture and art have been considered as one, creating a home defined by clarity, materiality and a strong connection to its outlook. Natural oak flooring runs throughout, complemented by dark chocolate-stained oak joinery, honed Turkish marble and limestone — a restrained palette that brings warmth and depth to the interior.

Working in partnership with Mathieson, Fanuli supplied a considered selection of furniture that complements the apartment’s quiet material language. The Grandemare sectional sofa by Flexform anchors the living space, alongside Peter Chairs in woven cord and a Magi ottoman in rich tobacco leather. Eco pieces by Riva 1920 introduce the natural character of solid cedar and live-edge timber, while the sculptural Spoon floor lamp and Tosca table lamp by Penta bring another layer of warmth and atmosphere.

DESIGN INSIGHT
Quietly Composed.

What makes Neutral Bay Apartment feel so resolved is the relationship between architecture, furniture, art and material.

Timber moves from architecture into furniture, tactile upholstery softens the precision of the interior, while art introduces moments of expression. Rather than competing for attention, each element contributes to the whole.

The result is a quiet expression of luxury, where restraint allows the beauty and tactility of each material to be felt.

BEDROOM: Gregory Bed by Flexform.
