Upholstered armchair with fabric or leather covering, distinguished by a distinctive solid wood backrest that serves as both a structural and decorative element. The solid and sinuous wooden frame connects the backrest to the seat, creating a visual and functional dialogue between the two upholstered volumes. The design explores the contrast between the welcoming softness of the padded seat and backrest and the material strength of the wood.
Available in various timber finishes with three variants to meet different requirements: with a timber seat, with a padded fitted non removal insert or with a supporting separate cushion.
Ronald Sasson
In the Passo Lounge Chair for Riva 1920, Ronald Sasson explores the relationship between strength and softness. The sculptural solid wood frame balances the upholstered forms while celebrating the natural beauty of timber. Born in Curitiba, Brazil, in 1967, Ronald Sasson is a designer and visual artist whose work bridges art, sculpture and furniture design. His experiences in Parisian art galleries and exploration of textiles and materials in Israel helped shape his understanding of form and function. Influenced by Brazilian modernism, Sasson developed his furniture practice independently, bringing an artistic sensibility to limited-edition pieces and industrial production. His work is distinguished by clean lines, sculptural volumes and an appreciation for natural materials. Believing good design should transcend trends, Sasson creates pieces with lasting relevance, where simplicity carries character and meaning. His work has received numerous international accolades, including iF Design Awards and Good Design Awards.
