Areo Armchair

Made in Italy

Designed by Alessandro Stabile for Kristalia

The Areo Armchair brings together fluid lines, innovative materials and an unmistakable sense of lightness. Its continuous frame, formed from CNC-bent tubular metal and finished with hand-welded joints, combines fluidity with strength and long-term durability. The distinctive diamond-patterned metal mesh creates a transparent, breathable silhouette, while its single-sheet construction minimises material waste.

Available in nine colours and three versions — exposed mesh, upholstered seat, or fully upholstered — Areo offers the freedom to personalise its appearance. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor settings, it is a versatile design that brings character, colour and lasting functionality to any space.

Alessandro Stabile

For the Areo Armchair, Alessandro Stabile explored the relationship between the fluid movement of tubular steel and the unexpected softness of expanded metal. Inspired by the way fabric drapes, he conceived a design in which metal mesh follows the curves of the frame, creating an elegant, lightweight silhouette. The result challenges our perception of metal as something rigid, revealing its potential for fluidity and expression. Alessandro Stabile is an Italian industrial designer whose work explores the relationship between technical innovation, functionality and form.
