Bull armchair

Made in Italy

Designed by Gabriele & Oscar Buratti for Bonaldo

The Bull Armchair brings together strength and softness in a beautifully balanced design. A three-legged solid wood frame gives the chair its architectural presence, while the generous upholstered seat and relaxed back cushion introduce softness and comfort.

A continuous elliptical form extends from the backrest into the armrests, wrapping around the circular seat to create Bull’s distinctive, enveloping silhouette. The contrast between solid timber and soft upholstery gives the design a sense of substance without visual heaviness — equally considered as a stand-alone piece or placed in a pair.

Gabriele & Oscar Buratti

For Bull, Gabriele & Oscar Buratti explore the relationship between structure and softness. A solid timber frame establishes the chair’s architectural character, while its rounded upholstered forms and relaxed back cushion bring comfort and an unexpected lightness to the design. Architects Gabriele and Oscar Buratti work together through their Milan-based studio, Buratti Architetti. Their multidisciplinary practice moves between architecture, interior design, furniture and lighting, allowing ideas from each discipline to inform the other. Gabriele was also Professor of Interior Design at the Faculty of Design at Politecnico di Milano from 2003 to 2010. Their work is characterised by a continual exchange between experimentation and technique, materials and workmanship, original ideas and product quality. Working across residential, commercial and retail projects as well as furniture design, the brothers have collaborated with leading international design brands, including Bonaldo and B&B Italia.
